H&N Corporation homepage: service cards for Vietnam tours, e-visa and passport, flight tickets and vehicle hire.

Case study

H&N Corporation

We designed, built and maintain one Drupal site for H&N's services between Australia and Vietnam, with visa and passport applications made online behind a customer account.

An engineer reads it and replies within one business day.

The client

H&N Corporation is an Australian private company with its head office in Downer, in the Australian Capital Territory, and branches in Sydney, Adelaide, Queensland and Melbourne. Its site lists what it does: visa services, money transfer, airfares, travel insurance, website development, export and import, vehicle hire, accommodation and tourism.

Much of that work connects Australia and Vietnam. H&N arranges Vietnam e-visas and visa exemption certificates, renews Vietnamese passports for people living in Australia, and sells flights and tours to Vietnam; on its own site it says it partners with 106 airlines. It also helps with Australian visitor visas, and offers short-term accommodation in Canberra, vehicles for hire and home décor under the H&N Decor name.

The problem

H&N's service lines were scattered rather than presented together, and the company needed them brought into one site. The lines do not work the same way. Visa and passport services need eligibility rules, document requirements, fees and processing times set out plainly, and an application that can be made online. Accommodation, vehicle hire and décor need to be presented clearly, with a way to get in touch. And a customer who comes to the site for one service should be able to find the others.

An online application also has to collect documents that differ from one service to the next. For an e-visa, H&N asks for a colour scan or photo of the full passport page and a recent photo; for a passport renewal, the expired passport, a passport-style photo and a completed form. Applicants need to know what to upload and in which file types. H&N's staff need each application to arrive complete and in one place, where they can work on it, and applicants need to see where their application stands without having to ask.

What we built

WeebPal designed and built a single Drupal site at hnncorp.com.au that brings H&N's services together under one navigation. The Services menu groups accommodation; Vietnamese passport and visa services, from e-visas and the visa exemption certificate to passport renewal and the Australian visitor visa; airline information; vehicle hire; travel insurance; web development services; and tours. The home page gives each line of business its own card: travel services, flight tickets, passport and visa, delivery van and cargo, and H&N Decor. Each section then has its own page: vehicle hire lists the vehicles by type and what each suits, from long-distance trips to deliveries and house moves; accommodation presents short-term rooms in Canberra with a contact route for booking; tours are grouped by destination. Customers can hold an H&N account with a profile.

WeebPal also built the visa processing function. Each visa and passport service has its own page that sets out who is eligible, which documents to prepare, the fee and the usual processing time, and ends with an Apply Online button; the Services menu also puts a Start Apply Online link beside each of these services. The application itself sits behind an H&N account. H&N publishes a tutorial next to its login form, and it walks an applicant through the process:

  • log in, or create an account, with a password reset beside it;
  • choose the service, such as an e-visa, a passport, the visa exemption or a Vietnamese police check;
  • say whether the application is for the applicant or for another person, and agree to the terms and policy;
  • upload the documents the service asks for, each in its own field, as JPG, PNG or PDF files, with a form template to download and an example of a correct document to check against;
  • choose the processing option, pick payment by bank transfer or card, and review the application.

Once an application is in, the applicant can follow its status on the site. On the other side, H&N's staff process applications in an administration area built for that work. Both sit behind the login, so they are described here and not shown in the screens on this page. The whole process runs online, without an appointment at an embassy.

The site also carries a flight search for direct flights to Vietnam. That part is not WeebPal's work.

Our role

WeebPal designed the site, built it on Drupal, built the visa processing function, and maintains the site now that it is running. The design and build are the kind of work described under UI/UX design and website development, the visa processing function under Drupal development, and the ongoing work under support and maintenance.

The result

The site is running at hnncorp.com.au, and WeebPal maintains it. Nam Nguyen, Director of H&N Corporation, wrote this for our reviews page:

I've had the pleasure of partnering with WeebPal for the past 5 years. They are a highly reputable international technology company, known for their professionalism, innovation, and consistent delivery of high-quality solutions. Working with WeebPal has been a truly valuable and reliable experience. I highly recommend WeebPal to anyone seeking a reliable and innovative tech partner.
