Choose pages and start detection

Why it matters

Choose the scope, language and engine that suit your PDF before committing to processing.

Before you begin: The PDF has completed its quick scan and is open in Detect.

  1. 1

    Check the scan summary

    Creator

Read the page count, text-layer or scanned-page information and suggested language. These help you choose an engine; they are not the final extraction result.

    /d/{your document}/detect
Historical local-site capture · 5 October 2026 · Detect: quick scan summary, pages, language, engines.
  2. 2

    Choose pages and language

Select all pages or a custom page range. Use the detected language or choose the correct language. Review the selection before starting.

    /d/{your document}/detect
    Historical local-site capture · 5 October 2026 · Custom range chosen.
  3. 3

    Compare engines

Read the engine description, Free or estimated cost, estimated time and Cloud label. Cloud means the selected content is sent to an external service for processing.

    /d/{your document}/detect
Historical local-site capture · 5 October 2026 · Paid engine selected: estimate shown.
  4. 4

    Confirm a paid run

Select Start. For a paid engine, check the estimate, remaining user and site budgets and cloud notice in the confirmation dialog before confirming.

    /d/{your document}/detect
    Historical local-site capture · 5 October 2026 · Paid run confirmation.
  5. 5

    Resolve a locked Start button

If your account already has the allowed number of documents processing, open the running documents or wait for them to finish. For insufficient budget, choose Free or reduce the page range.

    /d/{your document}/detect
Historical local-site capture · 5 October 2026 · Two documents already processing: Start is locked.
  6. Result to check

Processing starts for the selected scope. An estimate is a forecast; the final cost comes from recorded usage.
