Create and manage accounts
Why it matters
Provide the right account and role using the installation’s Drupal administration.
Before you begin: Admin access. Open Drupal administration from My account, then People. These native administration forms are not shown in the Reader prototype.
- 1
Create an account
AdminIn People, create an account with the email address and the Creator or Content Admin role. The user receives a first-password link and is treated as email-verified.
- 2
Change a role or block access
Edit the account’s role when responsibilities change. Set the account to Blocked to prevent login; an existing session ends at its next request. Blocking keeps the documents under the normal retention policy.
- 3
Recover an expired first-password link
Ask the user to select Forgot password for a new reset link if the first-password link has expired.
- 4
Delete only after reviewing the effect
Use the native account deletion action and confirmation when removal is intended. Active runs are cancelled and document and file removal is scheduled. Account deletion removes the user’s content rather than merely blocking access.
- Result to check
The account has the intended role and status. Confirm creation with the user’s first login; a static guide cannot verify email delivery or account changes.
